I picked up this book at the recommendation of another book (Guru's Guide to Sql Server Stored Procedures) and was surprised at how well what it teaches applies to the languages I use most of the time, VB.NET and Transact-Sql. The other book had a chapter on design patterns in Transact-Sql and showed how some of the ones in this book as well as a few new ones were common in Transact-Sql stored procedures. Thanks to that book and this one, I now look at code differently and know a pattern when I see it. Even for non-OOP languages, this book is a godsend for those who care about design. The book is also extremely well written and as clear as it possibly can be. I read through it the first time over a weekend and came away charged up and ready to pattern the world!I can't apply everything it teaches to my daily work, but enough of it applies that I highly recommend this book regardless of the language your using.

the title explains it all. Kingdom Come is a story about what would happen to Earth if Superman had abandoned it. the results were not pretty. Following through the story by the witness who recieved his visions from the dying Sandman he is taking The Spector to the time of Judgement. In the mean time we see the return of the JLA, Batmans unlikely alliance, and War amongst the Metahumans.this is a powerful tale. Very dark and brooding, with an allstar cast of DC characters. Each playing a key role in this tale.This is a tale worth owning. I first read this and vowed to buy it. It is truely worth owning one way or another.

The 60 Minute Estate Planner is very good and readable. The reader can expect to find good, comprehensive and detailed discussion of relevant estate planning subjects. In addition, the reader will find some concrete examples that might prove very fruitful.Although I readily rate The 60 Minute Estate Planner 5 stars, I strongly believe that Matin Shankman's "The Complete Book of Trusts," available for purchase right here at amazon.com, is by far superior in terms of its breadth and depth of coverage of estate planning topics as well as trust strategies.To the extent possible, I would recommend that the reader consider purchasing both The 60 Minute Estate Planner and The Complete Book of Trusts.

Great book. Fast action and some very good characters. Terrorists really could try and blow up a US oil rig, couldn't they? A down-to-earth hero who happens to be an oil patch diver tries to stop them, along with some of his rough-and-tumble buddies. This novel, by a former commercial diver, is better than most of this type. Well worth the time. I found this book after reading the 2nd one in the series, Tiger Reef, which was somewhat zanier, but also a great adventure read. Great fast reading.

A teacher in one of my daughter's classes used this, and every kid in the class wanted his or her own immediately. What a great experience. The learning comes from placing the sticker stars on the constellation poster map, where the stars actually are positioned in the sky. You can fill in the stars on the poster after you see them in the sky, or, you can look for them in the sky after you stick them on the poster. Either way, you get great learning and reinforcement opportunities. The poster can also be used in conjunction with history and mythology learning.The stars stick perfectly well, permanently, when used on the poster as intended and described. rtfm.

I could not wait to read this book and when I got it, I was NOT disappointed! This book was funny, witty, sad, outrageous, and charming from beginning to end. I identified with Nan on so many levels and sympathized for Grayer (her young charge)and his lack of any parental affection. It was a funny yet poignant look into this privedged world that really doesnt seem that enticing anymore. Well worth a SECOND read!
