The Beat of a Different Drummer!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
Violent Criminal Acts and Actors Revisited is a brilliant piece of forensic literature! The graphic and case-by-case, first-person accounts provide that needed "dose" of reality. Dr. Athens has developed a unique theory that is, paradoxically, both down-to-earth and profound in nature. He's a true forensic expert! The man focuses on quality rather than mere quantity in his works. His contributions to the field of criminology await full recognition. Reviewer is the author of Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity: One Man's Recovery.

Ms. Jenkins, stuck her foot in this book. I am a young African American woman who at one point did not like to read a book at all, until my Aunt encourageed me to read Indigo. After reading the first two chapters of this book I couldn't put it down. The history that is written in this book was so educating to me that I learned things about my black history that I didn't know exists. Ms. Jenkins keep up the good work, and please don't stop writing, I look forward to reading more titles from you. Its because of your books that I now love to read a good black Novel. Much thanks and prays to your work. Your a great writer and a very encouraging person, who makes black history very interesting to learn.

Great complement to the Ender series
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
Orson Scott Card continues to impress me. With the masterful novel of Ender's Game he follows with this great story. I would recommend reading Ender's Game first, however. This story is a great complement to the original story. I thought Bean was a fascinating character in Ender's Game. Bean is a very likeable character, very entertaining. I thought it most interesting to see Battle School from another perspective as well. After reading Ender's Game it is fascinating to see how Bean viewed Ender and what he was doing at Battle School. At first I avoided this book because I thought it was an attempt to squeeze more out of a classic novel, but I was dead wrong. This book I thought was almost equal to Ender's Game, and I have since read every book in this series, Shadow of the Hegemon, and Shadow Puppets. What a great franchise, full of action and very thought provoking. I highly recommend this book and this series to anyone.

Clear, concise
Rating: 5/5

This book addressed the concerns on death and dying. However, the only thing I disagree with the author on is that a grieving person can go to just "sadness" instead of "grief" by just reading her book and making a change just that quickly. In reality, I wanted to just be sad, but my body is still undergoing a lot of "grief" that my Dad died last year. The things she wants us to do are not easy at all to do. They look and feel easier on paper that is...The reality is, when our loved ones die, we really HURT. (Maybe for a long time too!)Nonetheless, it was a great book by a spirited author.I especially enjoyed her house diagrams and her organized themes that penetrated her work.

The Orchid Hunter
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Paperback
Ms. Landis has written a wonderfully refreshing romp that has proven her versatility as a talented writer. This novel has something for everyone. The exotic jungle setting will capture the interest of the adventurous reader. And the compelling characters and storyline will satisfy fans of her earlier works, such as WILDFLOWER and JUST ONCE, which also had fun and fiesty heroines like the free-spirited Joya of THE ORCHID HUNTER. This book has now become my #1 all-time favorite by Jill Marie Landis.

Finally: closure on the Simpson saga!
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Audio Cassette
This is a great read about the real, authentic search for the truth about the O.J. Simpson double-murder case. The story captured me from start to finish and has details that were not brought out in the criminal trial or were ignored then. Furhman and Bugliosi's books are also good, but Petrocelli's puts the lid on this can of worms. It tells how the justice system should work, whether or not there's money involved. It makes the criminal trial look like it truly was: injustice.

The Eye of the World
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
I thought this was a very good book. It is full of detail and history, it's not too confusing, it deals with realistic characters...etc., etc. There are some similarities and the Lord of the Rings and some people might say that it is too similar. I disagree. I like the Lord of the Rings better but I am yet to see a writer and can come even close to Tolkein's skill. This is much easier to read than Tolkein-There is enough detail to allow a reader to see, touch, feel, smell, taste etc., etc. but it's not as overwhelming as Tolkein. It has an interesting and intricate plot that will captivate almost any fantasy fan. I highly recommend this book as well as the rest of the series.

Jay Adkisson and Chris Riser have, in writing "Asset Protection: Concepts and Strategies For Protecting Your Wealth", done an inestimable service for those of us who practice in the financial and estate planning field and who also live in the Real World.
Authoritative, relevant, wholly practical, and very clearly written, this book belongs in your library - and its contents in your head - if (a) you work in the AP field and (b) you don't want your client's name to be forever connected with "v. Commissioner".

Here's a critic worth reading
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
Arrowsmith's fascinatingly wide-scoped analysis of Antonioni's classic films is one of the best books of criticism I've ever read. You will not find a single line of cliche film criticism in this entire book, no jargon, just insight and more insight into the how and why of Antonioni's greatness based firmly on cultural and philosophical imperatives. No self-respecting Antonioni fan should miss out on the tonic of Arrowsmith's pivotal achievement.
