What this series really needs...
Rating: 5/5
Binding: Hardcover
This series is getting too long. Not that that is a bad thing, it just takes the first hundred pages to remember what is going on. What this book needs is a 10 to 20 page summary of the previous books with a majority devoted to the most recent book. I had no idea what was going on when I started this one. And there's no way in Hell I'm going to reread the series to remember what's happening. Not to mention the horrible turnaround time for each new book... This series started in 1991(?); that's one book a year and they seem to be slowing down. Let's just hope this series ends before the starwars saga ends...

What a fantastic read!

I have to say, "R is for Ricochet" is now one of my favorites in Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone series. It starts out slowly: As usual, Grafton takes time to set the stage for the story and introduce all the characters. When the story takes off, however, it grabs you by the collar and doesn't let go.
Many of the characters in this book were exceptionally well-developed, and even familiar characters seemed to explore new depths. I found Reba to be one of the most entertaining characters Kinsey has ever encountered. In fact, I would love to see her again in future books.
Five stars from me!

This book made me laugh so hard that I probably annoyed the people in the next apartment. I haven't seen most of the films and TV shows skewered in this book. Now I know I haven't missed much. Best of all, I've been warned away from some megacheese I WAS thinking of watching. Thank you, Mr. Nelson. Random comments: A friend of mine who deeply hates Scrappy-Doo loved Mike Nelson's comment about the little nuisance. I'm a woman and I don't hate "The Three Stooges." I remember them fondly from my childhood. P.282, third line from the bottom: "woman," not "women." P.288, line two: "off", not "of". (If there were any other typos, I was laughing too hard to notice.) SEQUEL! SEQUEL!

After reading Mary K Baxter's book, I was skeptical about purchasing anymore books about the afterlife. But after watching the Heaven/Hell documentary, it inspired me to purchase this book. I must say that this book is biblical! Joni doesnt conjure up any false visions or dreams about heaven. She sticks strickly with the scriptures, and also adds her real life experiences to express her thoughts of the heavenly realm.

Very well written.

I see nothing wrong with Eddings Belgariad and Mallorea books. From the man that in my mind pioneered the Fantasy genere, and maybe even gave way to books like "Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan and "Sword of Truth" by Terry Goodkind. I for one was esctatic about the revisit of old characters, especially Silk, who is by far my most favorite. Keep in mind, that these books were the product of the 80's, and modern 90's fantasy writing was still in the works, but in my opinion, Eddings was way ahead of his time.
